Galaxy Evolution in Groups and Clusters

This post is more than 60 days old and may no longer be the most up-to-date content. For event related posts, please check for a newer article to avoid confusion on times and locations.

Join us this Friday, February 10 for our members meeting! Our guest speaker for the evening is Dr. Laura Parker and her topic for the evening will be “Galaxy Evolution in Groups and Clusters“.

Dr. Parker is a long-time friend of the HAA and has spoken to us on occasion. She is a Professor and University scholar in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at McMaster University. She joined the faculty at McMaster in 2007 after an ESO fellowship in Germany and received her PhD from the University of Waterloo in 2005. Before that she attended Mount Allison University, Sackville, New Brunswick and Lester B. Pearson College of the Pacific in Victoria, B.C.

Observing Director Steve Germann will also be there with the February edition of The Sky This Month.
We will also be giving away some door prizes. Don’t forget that we gladly accept donations of food or cash  for delivery to Hamilton FoodShare. Anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated!

Doors open at 7:00 PM and the meeting begins at 7:30 PM. For those not able to attend in person, we will be livestreaming the meeting on ZOOM for club members and Facebook for all others (as long as the technology cooperates). The meeting will also be posted on our YouTube channel about 48 hours after the meeting.

We hope to see you there!
