Astro-Photos by Peter McHugh

The image was a single untracked exposure taken Raw on my Olympus E3 with no in camera mods other than Auto White Balance:

Lens Olympus 150mm with 1.4 Converter (424mm 35mm equiv.)
ISO 800
f 7.1
0.5 Secs.
10:50 pm (Camera time was 9:50pm).
Mirror up 4 secs before shutter open.
Tripod Manfrotto 190 CL, Head - Manfrotto Ball 486RC2.

I removed about 60% of the noise, corrected very slight chromatic aberration and defringed the image in the RAW, then converted to PSD where I used the curves to reduce the level at the left or dark side of the image curve. This resulted in a pretty dark sky with relatively bright moons and still a few stars in the field.
